Ice on the way

  1. Great capture of the intricate patterns the freezing ice makes.
Combined with the air trapped in and underneath this is a LOVELY shot1

  2. Oh my. Your photo has just sent me back in my momory to when I was a girl growing up on Staten Island. Everything is exciting when you are 8 or 9 or 10. Winter was something new (when you don't have to drive or commute in it.) Winter meant snow and sledding and even snow days with no school! I'm not a fan of winter now, but I loved it as a kid. And the first sign of winter after what was a damp, raw, dreary November on an island off the Atlantic was that patterned skin of ice on the water in the potholes on the street as we walked down to school. Thank you for wakening in me the wonder I had once for the onset of a new season.

  4. It was always fun to crunch on the thin crust of ice present on puddles and elsewhere.
